Registration for Faith Formation Classes

Registration for Faith Formation Classes for the new school year 2024—2025 has begun. Please stop by the Faith Formation Office, Monday thru Thursday from 9am to 5pm to register. At the time of registration, please bring your child's Certificate of Baptism if they are registering for the Sacraments of First Penance and/or First Communion. If registering for the Sacrament of Confirmation, please bring the child's Certificates of Baptism and First Communion.

Inscripción para Clases de Formación de Fe

Ha comenzado la inscripción para las clases de formación de fe para el nuevo año escolar 2024—2025. Pase por la Oficina de Formación de Fe, de lunes a jueves de 9am a 5pm para registrarse. Al momento de la inscripción, traiga el Certificado de Bautismo de su hijo si se está registrando para los Sacramentos de Primera Penitencia y/o Primera Comunión. Si se registra para el Sacramento de la Confirmación, traiga los Certificados de Bautismo y Primera Comunión del niño.

Summer Youth Group Activities

All Middle School and High School Youth are invited to participate in any of the following summer activities listed below. Permission slips are available at Sister Maria's office during work hours or after the Masses on the weekend.

Wednesday, August 14th—No Youth Group Activity

Sunday, August 18th from 2pm—5pm Back to School Rally for Middle School and High School—No Fee—Parents need to drop-off and pick-up their child

Infant Baptisms Registration

Our next Infant Baptisms will take place on Saturday, August 24th at 10am in Edcouch. Please register your child at the parish office this week. At the time of registration, please present the baby's birth certificate, the names of the godparents and $20 donation for the church. Please remember that godparents must be at least 16 years of age, have completed all their Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist) and if married, it must be through the Catholic Church. All parents and godparents are required to attend the baptismal instruction class on Thursday, August 22nd at 6:30pm at the parish hall in Edcouch.

Registro de Bautismos Infantiles

Nuestros próximos Bautismos de Infantes se llevarán a cabo el sábado, 24 de agosto, a las 10am en Edcouch. Registre a su hijo/a en la oficina parroquial esta semana. Al momento de la inscripción favor de presentar el acta de nacimiento del bebé, los nombres de los padrinos y una donación de $20 para la iglesia. Por favor recuerde que los padrinos deben tener al menos 16 años de edad, haber completado todos sus Sacramentos de Iniciación (Bautismo, Confirmación y Eucaristía) y si están casados, deben ser a través de la Iglesia Católica. Todos los padres y padrinos deben asistir a la clase de instrucción bautismal el jueves, 22 de agosto, a las 6:30pm en el salón parroquial de Edcouch.

As God's people, we are called to celebrate, promote, and when necessary to defend the life and dignity of every person. We must treat everyone with respect, and do what we can to protect others from  harm. Suspected misconduct with minors by lay church personnel should be reported to the pastor of the parish, the principal of the school, or the head of the Catholic institution involved. Suspected misconduct with minors by a priest, deacon, or religious should be reported directly to the Bishop or Vicar General (P. O. Box 2279, Brownsville, TX 78522-2279; 956-542-2501). A form for a Confidential Notice of Concern, may be used, and obtained on request from the local pastor, school principal, institution head, or Diocese, or it may be downloaded from the Brownsville Diocese website (www.cdob.org) Please be aware that it is a state law that anyone who suspects abuse or neglect of a minor must report it to local law enforcement officials or to the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services at 1-800-252-5400. Our faith assures us that we will not be overcome by evil but will overcome evil with good (cf. Rm 12:21).

Was baptized Catholic as a child, but has not celebrated the Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist?

Is a member of another faith but is interested in becoming a Catholic?

We offer an opportunity to come together in a small group to learn more about our faith. Sessions focus on the teachings and experience of Church and prepare individuals to celebrate the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist during the Easter season. ¿Es miembro de otra fe pero está interesado en convertirse en católico?

Ofrecemos la oportunidad de reunirnos en un grupo pequeño para aprender más sobre nuestra fe. Las sesiones se enfocan en las enseñanzas y la experiencia de la Iglesia y preparan a las personas para celebrar los Sacramentos del Bautismo, la Confirmación y la Eucaristía durante la temporada de Pascua.
